MASM flying field

Print

Our field is located in Sacramento County, California just north of the intersection of Eagles Nest Rd. and Kiefer Blvd. on the former Mather Air Force Base (about one mile south of Mather Golf Course). Click on the map for directions.

MASM flying site has four flying stations facing to the east. Our paved runway 100ft wide and 400ft long can be used for general flying. On the north site there is an area for flying small electric planes. On the south site there is a small grass area that can be used by small electric planes too. Gliders can be launched from the grassy area on the west site of Eagles Nest Road.

Besides bathroom we do not provide utilities (there is no water nor electricity at the field), so bring your own supplies. For pilots we have six working tables under the shed in pits, for spectators we have recreation area with picnic table and benches.

Our site meets all AMA recommendations for safe flying. All pilots and spectators must obey posted safety rules and operation regulations.

Note: Because of the bad shape of the unpaved part of Eagles Nest Rd we recommend to arrive from the south taking Kiefer Blvd exiting west of Sunrise Blvd or north of Jackson Hwy. See the picture for turn-to-turn instructions.
