Historically, a large number of club members go to the field on New Years Day to start the year off right, with a flight or two (weather permitting).
Pilots, as well as many of their family members, attend the event. It’s nice to see the spouses and kids enjoying the hobby with us. Overall, it tends toward a true family event.
If you have a favorite chili recipe please cook up a batch and come join us for a fun day.
This year we are going to incorporate a Chili Cook Off into the get together. Each chef will cook up a batch (enough for 10 – 12 people) of their own personal home brew recipe and bring it to the field. The club will provide bowls, spoons, cheese and Frito's.
Our expert panel of judges will declare the winner. The winner will receive world acclaim and global recognition of his or her awesome cooking talents.
We could use a couple of extra camp stoves to keep the chili hot. If you have one, please bring it just in case we need it.
If anyone has a special side dish that would complement the chili, please bring it so that we can enjoy it along with the chili.
